Distinguished Young Women of Pennsylvania is part of a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership and talent in young women.

College scholarships are awarded at the state level ($10,000 last year) and millions in college-granted scholarships are available ($1 billion nationally). And one representative will advance to the national program in Mobile, Alabama where they give away over $100,000 in cash tuition scholarships.

The Distinguished Young Woman of Pennsylvania for 2019 is Angelina Domenick, from New Castle.

Angelina’s achievements include: National Honors Society, High Honor Roll • 1st Place at Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science • 1st Place at Lawrence County Forensics • Candy Canes Drill Team Captain • Enrollment in Seton Hill College in High School Courses • Enrollment in Advanced Placement Courses • American Legion Awardee • National Dance Scholarships to Break the Floor Productions and NYCDA • Dance Scholarship to intensive “Dancer Palooza” in Long Beach, CA • Homecoming Queen

In addition, Angelina’s activities include: National Honors Society- Secretary • Captain of Candy Canes Drill Team • Elite Competitive Dancer at Ludovici Dance Academy • New Castle Indoor Track • Stars of Tomorrow at The New Castle Playhouse • Working Out • Advanced Placement Courses
Benefit Show for local teens suffering from an illness • Paint the Town Pink Cancer Event / Susan G. Komen 5k • MC for Big Brothers and Sisters event • Being an administrator to aid in the registration of kindergarteners • Candy Canes Drill Team Kids’ Camp Teacher/Susan G. Komen 5k
